For each event hosted by the Truitt Center, I am responsible for managing social media and engagement across Instagram for the upcoming event. This event, Holi, did very well in terms of engagement.
As part of my internship at Elon University's Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, I worked with the internship advisor to create branded social media content advertising the upcoming event. This type of content is challenging for me as a designer because you have to make your audience feel comfortable attending an event that might not be part of their faith traditions or background. The posts rely heavily on the emphasis on color, as Holi is known as the Hindu festival of colors, and the joy of human participation. This was a pleasure to design as it represents a shift from COVID online celebrations. I also curated pictures from both the previous HOLI in 2019 in the opening post and the current HOLI in the closing post. These photos were taken by myself and Elon University photographer Rob Brown. It was a fun event to finally attend without fear.
