The Sand Mandala Event in October of 2021, is an annual event that most students on campus are unaware of. My task as the point intern of this event was to make sure students had something tangible that could help them understand the significance of this event, and not feel intimidated by it.
As part of my internship at Elon University's Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, I worked with a fellow intern to run point for coordinating this event. The biggest challenge with this is campus awareness. With so many things happening and so many demands on your time, it can be challenging to keep up with everything. The following brochure let me flex my InDesign and photoshop skills as I laid out typographic and visual content in a way that is easy to understand and maintains the spirit of the event. The Green Tara Sand Mandala created by Geshe Sangpo of the Kadampa Center in Raleigh is the focal point of the event. So, I created a way to highlight that information in a visually beautiful way that was easy to understand.
